MYP Teacher in English Language and Literature (LL) - Under tillsättning eller tillsatt, ej sökbar

Job description 

This position is a 100% MYP (ages 11-16) teaching position in the subjects of English Language and Literature (LL) in combination with English language support and ATL (Approaches to Learning). Mentorship is also included.

The position will start on August 6, 2024 and may start with a probation time of 6 months. After the agreed period of time the position will be turned into a permanent position if agreed by both parties.

The working language and language of instruction at ISLK is English.

In this position you will:

• Teach MYP English Language and Literature (LL), ATL (Approaches to Learning) and provide English language support to different year groups
• Collaborate and provide planning following the IB MYP programme in the subject of English Language and Literature (LL), using an inquiry conceptual-based approached in teaching and learning in the subject of MYP English
• Work in alignment with the standards and practices of the IB MYP framework
• Role model the IB learner profile, mission statement, and the school vision
• Be a mentor for students in a specific year group
• Perform other related duties as assigned 

Qualification and experience

• Certified and trained Middle Years teacher (ages 11-16) in the subject of English Language and Literature (LL)
• High proficiency in English: fluent in speaking, reading and writing
• Experience of working with inclusive practices/inclusive education
• Proven strengths in collaboration
• Demonstrated leadership skills in the classroom
• Previous IB MYP teaching experience
• Proven experience using and digital tools to enhance learning opportunities
• Excellent collaborative, organizational and communication skills 

Desired qualification and experience

• Qualifications to teach other MYP subjects
• IB training
• Previous IB MYP, DP or PYP teaching experience
• Experience of working in a multicultural and multilingual community 
• Knowledge of other languages
